Spring break is a time full of fun, adventures and making new memories. Sometimes it can get quite busy. Our dentist, Dr. Chet B. Hawkins, understands that and also understands that smile care might not be on the top of your priority list. Well, even though this might be true, it’s still very important to make it a priority. Caring for your smile on spring break can help you avoid dental problems during your vacation and even after your vacation. So, our dentist encourages you to care for your smile by doing the following things:
-Pack your oral hygiene tools: Your toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and mouthrinse should be in your bag before you head out the door. These things can help you clean your smile regularly and maintain top-notch teeth and gums while you’re away. Remember: You can’t travel by plane with liquids that weigh more than 3.4 ounces.
-Clean your smile: You packed your toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthrinse, so don’t forget to use them! Make sure to brush twice a day and floss and rinse daily.
-Wear a mouthguard: A mouthguard can protect your smile when you participate in high-contact sports and activities. You don’t want to suffer knocked-out and broken teeth, do you? So, make sure to wear a mouthguard when you’re active.
